Now here I have a question. Why is it that Kellyn and Kate are the same height in their pictures, yet Keith is a full head taller in his? Are we to assume that Keith is incredibly tall for his age? Or is Kellyn merely short?
Perhaps these depictions differ in age?

I have no idea, ask the people who drew this XD But I think Keith and Kellyn are the same height and Kate is a bit shorter then them XD I say their all the same age

In the games, they're all twelve or about that age. I believe the pictures in the almishipping thread accuractly represent this.
Recognisable Male/Female height differences generally begin to become apparent at around the age twelve, the general age given to be the average onset of puberty. However, the change is minimal in early puberty, though they do become taller.
It might deserve note that males are generally slightly shorter than females before the first stages of puberty. Given this, Canon!Kellyn and Canon!Keith might actually be shorter than Canon!Kate. I don't think so, though. I place them at the age of twelve in the games. As such, I do believe Keith should be taller, but not nearly by that much.
The official art, as seen on Bulbapedia, might not be trustworthy in this regard. This is because the pictures of Kate and Kellyn appears to be placed further back than that of Keith.

We don't even know if Ranger School is year long... We can't really know. Time has never been accurately depicted in Pokemon games. Furthermore, the official art, as seen on Bulbapedia, might not be trustworthy in this regard. This is because the pictures of Kate and Kellyn appears to be placed further back than that of Keith. Either that, or Keith is monstrously tall. Or perhaps the ages of those that attend Ranger school are not all the same? Perhaps Keith is a year older than the player character? Who knows?

I think they are all of the same age. Even though there seems to be no limitation according to age in attending the Ranger school. (Ollie expresses his interest in becoming a Ranger School student at the end of SoA, saying that Ms. April told him that age does not matter - whether that is the official policy or just her opinion isn't specified.)
As far as the first picture goes, it was the artist's decision to make Keith appear taller so that his expression would be visible over Kate's head.

Besides, I believe that this artist is trying to represent them at an older age. Many do that.

That is odd. I never see AlmiaShipping fanfiction. It's all Vatonage. Yet, there are more Almiashipping drawings?

Guessing Vatonageshipping has more substance to write fanfics about, provided that it has the game to back it up and to extend from, while drawing a fanart only requires you to think up a scene, preferably one of your own. *shrug*
...I'm not forgetting that Almiashippers have the webcomic there.
